Upper East Side, Manhattan A couple came into the showroom wanting to replace a full-wall built-in original to their bedroom- a fully enclosed mahogany piece that had come with the apartment. Heavy and dark, it felt limiting both functionally and stylistically, and no longer reflected how they lived in the room or wanted it to feel. 

Reimagining the built-out wall started with opening up the enclosure: incorporating a dedicated TV space, a desk with file drawers, and lightening the main material to a warm Oak. The finer details- a continuous line of black high-gloss accessory drawers, a finish choice which was echoed diagonally in the cabinet faces above the TV, a custom millwork console below, smoked glass above the desk with underside puck lights- honor the specificity of a custom piece without overstatement.
